What’s the Most Dangerous Job in the U.S.? (Video)

“Hi, my name is Greg Batista here to answer another question from the internet.

Iamthewalrus25 asks: What’s the most dangerous job in America — is it in construction?

Great question. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, logging workers top the list, but in construction, roofers face some of the highest risks. The BLS reports roofers have a fatal injury rate of 59 per 100,000 workers, nearly 10 times higher than the national average for all occupations. Falls from heights account for the majority of these deaths. In South Florida, the danger is even greater due to slippery conditions from sudden rains, blistering heat, and the added challenge of hurricane season.

That’s why OSHA requires strict fall protection, safety harnesses, and regular training. These rules are not just paperwork — they’re life savers. The data shows that companies with strong safety programs significantly reduce injuries and deaths.
